Liu said, at present, telemedicine, leisure and entertainment, online education, cross-border meetings, body temperature warning, intelligent catering, and other industries are in full swing. In 2020, global GDP declined, but the display industry showed a counter-trend growth, with an output value growth rate of 12.6%. Liu talked about how the global GDP will return to normal growth this year, and the display industry output value growth is expected to exceed the global GDP growth rate.

 

In his speech, Liu shared the development of the display industry in mainland China. He said that in 2005, BOE invested in the mass production of mainland China's first five-generation line with independent intellectual property rights, and China officially entered the semiconductor display industry. From 2010, the first six-generation line and 8.5-generation line in mainland China achieved mass production one after another, marking the display industry in mainland China entered a period of rapid development. 2018, BOE invested in mainland China's first, and the world's first 10.5-generation line to achieve mass production. Liu said this shows that mainland China's display industry has become a global industry leader from a follower, achieving leapfrogging high-speed development.
